Reconnecting your Roku remote depends on the type of remote you have. Roku remotes come in two types:

  1. Simple Infrared (IR) Remote– Works by pointing directly at the Roku device.
  2. Enhanced (Pairing) Remote– Uses Wi-Fi and needs to be paired with your Roku.

For a Simple IR Remote:

Check Batteries – Replace them if needed.
Ensure a Clear Line of Sight – Point it directly at the Roku; avoid obstructions.
Restart Your Roku – Unplug it for 10 seconds, plug it back in, and try again.

For a Roku Enhanced (Pairing) Remote:

  1. Remove and Reinsert the Batteries
    • Open the battery compartment and remove the batteries.
    • Wait a few seconds, then put them back in.
  2. Press the Pairing Button
    • Find the small pairing buttoninside the battery compartment.
    • Press and hold it for 5 secondsor until you see a flashing light.
  3. Wait for Roku to Recognize the Remote
    • Your Roku should detect the remote and complete the pairing process.
    • This may take about 30 seconds.

Alternative: Use the Roku Mobile App

If your remote isn’t working, you can use the Roku app on your phone:

  1. Download the Roku App(iOS/Android).
  2. Connect your phone to the same Wi-Fias your Roku.
  3. Open the app and tap Remoteto control your Roku.
