Soft Reset

HOW TO RESET ROKU TV
To reset your Roku TV, you have a couple of options: a soft reset and a factory reset. Here’s how to do both:
Soft Reset
If your Roku TV is unresponsive, you can perform a soft reset:
- Unplug the TV: Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait a Moment: Leave it unplugged for about 10 seconds.
- Plug It Back In: Reconnect the power cord to the outlet.
- Turn on the TV: Press the power button to turn it back on.
Factory Reset
If you want to erase all settings and start fresh, use the factory reset option:
Using the Menu:
- Press the Home Button: On your remote, press the Home
- Navigate to Settings: Scroll down and select Settings.
- Select System: Go to System.
- Choose Advanced system settings: Scroll down and select Advanced system settings.
- Select Factory Reset: Choose Factory reset.
- Confirm Reset: Follow the prompts to confirm the factory reset. You may need to enter a code.
Using the Physical Reset Button:
- Locate the Reset Button: Find the physical reset button on your Roku TV (usually at the back or bottom).
- Press and Hold: Press and hold the reset button for about 10-15 seconds until you see the Roku logo on the screen.
- Release the Button: Release the button, and the TV will reset.
Important Note
A factory reset will erase all your personal settings, channels, and preferences, so use it as a last resort. After the reset, you’ll need to set up your Roku TV again.
You can reset your Roku TV in two ways: Soft Reset (Restart) or Factory Reset (erases everything and restores it to default settings).
Soft Reset (Restart Roku TV) – If It’s Frozen or Slow
This won’t delete your apps or settings.
Method 1: Using the Roku TV Menu
- Press the Homebutton on your Roku remote.
- Go to Settings> System > Power.
- Select System Restart> Restart.
- Wait for your Roku TV to reboot.
Method 2: Using the Roku Remote
- Press the following buttons in order:
- Your Roku TV will restart automatically.
Factory Reset Roku TV – If You Want to Erase Everything
This deletes all apps, settings, accounts, and preferences and returns your TV to factory default.
Method 1: Reset from Roku TV Menu
- Press the Homebutton on your Roku remote.
- Go to Settings> System > Advanced system settings.
- Select Factory Reset> Factory Reset Everything.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and enter the code displayed.
- Your Roku TV will restart and erase everything.
Method 2: Hard Reset with the Reset Button
- Find the Reset buttonon the back of your Roku TV (usually near HDMI ports).
- Press and hold the button for 10-30 seconds(use a paperclip if needed).
- Release it when the TV turns off and on againwith the Roku logo appearing.
- Your TV is now fully reset.
After Reset, You’ll Need to:
